Dufour Grand large 425 (2008) Profile and Plan Layout

Pollyanna is a Dufour 425 and as her name suggests is suitable for adventures across the Grand Large.

Her under water shape is designed for fast, comfortable, sailing and is reassuringly forgiving when the going gets tough.

Alba Sailing are on top of her RYA Coding certification so she is continuously being serviced and safety checked to ensure she is ship shape and her equipment updated and ready for action.

We are always impressed at how she beats up the Sound of Mull, against a North Westerly and a heavy tidal flow with little fuss. If she is over powered in a gust she’ll just veer up into the wind. Furl in the genoa a bit and with a tight foot and a full main she’ll track a steady 8 knots into a lively head wind and occasionally give the helmsman that added satisfaction of over taking a yacht on engine.

Living space is generous with the additional comfort of a full cockpit enclosure to help reduce condensation and provide a wonderful space to relax and enjoy your company at anchorage, even in the rain!

Below, her layout sleeps 8 and includes an en suite main cabin, 2 aft cabins and another head. She provides a practical navigation station with everything you would expect and need to plan your adventure and plot your course and fix your position.

In addition, there is a cockpit GPS Plotter with Man Over Board alert, plus handheld VHF if required.

The hull shape is fast and due to her 4.16 m (13.65 ft) beam, provides a decent amount of floor space to stretch your legs in the main saloon and feel at home. A powerful, central heating system makes the difference when you retire after a hard day’s sail and feel like snuggling up or first thing before the sun has heated up the cockpit enclosure!
